Qacha’sNek, Nov. 20 — As Lesotho joins the global community in observing World Children’s Day, the Qacha’sNek Police Station Child and Gender Protection Unit (CGPU) is urging parents and guardians to nurture children with love, education, and attention.
Detective Sub Inspector (D/Sub-Insp) ’Maphutheho Mongali emphasized that children need care and time with their families to grow into empathetic and well-rounded individuals.
The 2025 theme, “My Day, My Rights,” highlights the importance of recognizing children as active participants in decisions that affect them.
“Let’s eliminate distractions such as cell phones and television, spend quality time with our children, and truly get to know them,” D/Sub-Insp Mongali said in an interview on Thursday. “When we listen and involve them, children are more likely to open up and understand decisions made in their best interest.”
