Maseru, Nov. 20 — Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso is expected to be the guest of honour at the media awards ceremony to be held in Maseru on Wednesday.
The awards media competition is an initiative organised by World Vision Lesotho (WVL), MISA Lesotho and UNICEF held annually in a bid to recognise media professionals in telling stories affecting children while also promoting their rights as human beings.
This year’s awards according to WVL is done in line with World Children’s Day (WCD) theme: For Every Child, Every Right! hence journalists will be awarded in the categories of child hunger and malnutrition, online sexual exploitation and trafficking in persons respectively.
It is also anticipated that the said event will also be honoured by the presence of the Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development, Mr. Pitso Lesaoana, who will perform official opening as well as Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, Mr. Lebona Lephema who will usher in with remarks the Queen for awards presentation.
