QUTHING MARKS WORLD TOILET DAY

Quthing, Nov. 21 – – Quthing district marked World Toilet Day on the theme “accelerating change” at Maqokho health centre  on Monday this week.

The celebration started with a procession led by village health workers from villages within the health service area, and the health personnel singing and holding flyers and banners with messages creating awareness to the public about the importance of building toilets.

Speaking at the event the Area Chief of Maqokho,  Chief Danyele Danyele emphasized that lack of toilets in different villages and some primary schools in the area is a concern as the community including children experience diseases caused by unclean environment.

He expressed gratitude for the event saying there is hope that it will motivate residents to construct toilets since it is not only poor households that lack toilets in the area. . .
