Qacha’sNek, Mar. 06 — A Makhalong rape suspect was finally granted M800 bail on Wednesday.
The 14 year-old victim did not oppose his bail application. However, the Public Prosecutor Advocate Tsotang Maile opposed it maintaining that Koali Shao 21, is a flight risk and the incident occurred more than once therefore putting the investigating officer Police Constable (PC) Tefo Mohlabanyane on stand to testify.
“If he gets it, may his passport be taken,” he said.
PC Mohlabanyane shared similar sentiments adding that his investigations revealed that the accused was only arrested last Sunday even though the case was reported in July last year because he was in South-Africa.
