Qacha’s Nek, Jan. 15 — Motloang Mankoe, a 20 year-old resident of Waterfall, was granted bail on Wednesday by Qacha’s Nek Magistrate Court after being charged with raping a 66 year-old woman.
Senior Magistrate Ts’eliso Bale released Mankoe on a M300 bail under the conditions that he must not interfere with state witnesses, hinder police investigations and is required to attend all court remands and stand trial to its conclusion.
The decision followed the absence of opposition from Senior Crown Counsel Tsotang Maile during the bail application.
According to Police Constable Rets’ilisitsoe Mohlalisi, the accused allegedly broke into the elderly woman’s house while she was asleep.
