TWO LCS OFFICERS SUSPEND WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Maseru, Jan 09 – Two Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) officers at Maseru Central Correctional Institution as well as at the Correction staff Training College (CSTC) have been suspended with immediate effect following the escape in detention of six inmates on December 21, last year.

LCS Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Pheko Ntobane told the Agency on Tuesday that LCS Commissioner, Mating Nkakala resolved to suspend the Maseru Central Correctional Institution Officer in Charge as well as the CSTC Commandant Officer in order to allow the internal investigations aimed at establishing incidents surrounding the escape from the institution of the six inmates.

“The reason for these two LCS officers is to allow the internal investigations to go on smoothly without any obstacles,” he commented. . .
