REFORMS PROGRESS WORRIES DPM

Maseru, Aug 04 – The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Justice Nthomeng Majara says even though there are some challenges facing national reforms progress, the government remains committed towards realisation of this initiative.

The DPM who is also Minister of Justice, Law and Parliamentary Affairs said this when sharing the journey on reforms since formation of this new government at a press conference held in Maseru on Friday.

She indicated that after holding several consultations with all reforms stakeholders including opposition as well as their recent meeting with SADC oversight committee, their anticipation was that the ‘Omnibus Bill,’ would be presented soon in Parliament.

However, she explained that several efforts and invites to liaise with opposition to come for consensus meeting in preparation for this has so far become futile as members said they are busy preparing for September 2023 Local Government Elections.
