ROBBER GETS THREE YEARS

Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 30 — Resident Magistrate ’Mampho Mokoena of the Qacha’s Nek Magistrate Court has sentenced 29 year-old Zamane Kama from Melikane, Ha Dudumayo, to a total of three years in prison. 

He received two years for robbery and an additional year for escaping from lawful custody, with no option for a fine.

Kama was charged with armed robbery after he robbed  49 year-old Nozabathene Selemela on October 15, 2024 at Motse-mocha.

The court heard that  he threatened her with a firearm, forcibly taking M450 in cash along with several personal items, including a school bag, two cellphones, national IDs and voter’s cards.
