SA GOVERNMENT CHANGES STANCE ON ILLEGAL MINERS  

Maseru, Nov. 16 — The government of South Africa (SA) has changed its stance on retrieval of illegal miners trapped in shaft 11, Stilfontein mine in the North West, as Police Minister pledges to try all in his power to help the miners.

Senzo Mchunu pledged to bring illegal miners out safely, following a declaration by his colleague, Minister in the Presidency, that the government is going to smoke the ‘zama zamas’ out, because they are criminals who were not sent down there but went at their own accord.

Civil Organisations have also lashed on the SA government Thursday statement by Minister Ntshaveni. . .
