SCHOOL’S CLOSURE SPARKS PARENTS’ PETITION

Qacha’s Nek, Nov. 07 — A group of concerned parents from Precious English Medium Primary School, founded by Nigerian couple Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Nora Onouha, has petitioned District Administrator (DA) Mr. Habofanoe Pheku to arrange a meeting with District Education Manager Mr. Lebenya Mothibeli regarding the prolonged closure of their children’s school.

The parents, frustrated by the indefinite shutdown, are deeply concerned about the disruption to their children’s education.

In a letter signed by five representatives, they highlighted the significant impact on families, many of whom have been forced to send their children to distant districts or even abroad due to the lack of quality local education.

The parents are aware of the school’s legal issues, including a March 2023 court ruling that found Mr. Onouha guilty of operating the school without proper registration, and they are seeking clarity on why it has not reopened despite efforts to address these challenges. . .
