Mohale’s Hoek, Aug. 28 — The Lesotho Mounted Police Public Relations Officer Inspector ‘Mareabetsoe Mofoka has confirmed that the search is on for suspects in the murder of 2 women in different incidents.
Inspector Mofoka noted this in an interview with the Agency, by asserting that on Sunday the body of a 34 year-old woman was discovered by a herdboy at Tsoloane, Taung around 10 am dumped at a quarry site with a gun wound and the police found shells of a 9mm pistol, noting the cause of the killing in not known.
She indicated that another incident happened at Letlapeng, Ha Thaba-Linoha where the body of a 65 year-woman was discovered by her son and his friends, who went looking for her after the deceased employer reported that the latter had not pitched for work.
Inspector Mofoka asserted that the deceased is reported to have left her home at around 5:00 am to her workplace at Moeaneng where she was employed as a domestic worker, but her employer became suspicious when the deceased did not show-up and informed the latter’s son.
The deceased is reported to have been found with a wound and signs of strangulation and was sexually assaulted, while her towel and shawl was discovered not far from her body.
Inspector Mofoka concluded by urging those who may have information to alert the police.
