SETSOTO STADIUM REFURBISHMENT HALTED BY LACK OF FUNDS

Maseru, June 10 — The refurbishment of Setsoto Stadium has been a hot topic for a long time after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) banned the facility for not meeting international standards, forcing Likuena to play home games outside the country.

When approached to shed some light on when the refurbishment of the Setsoto Stadium will resume, Acting Director of Sports in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, Mr. Khotso Patsa said the Ministry relies on funds made available by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

He said once those funds are made available, the refurbishment will begin immediately.

Mr. Patsa said based on the information they were given by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the costs for upgrading the Setsoto Stadium have since risen from M20 million to M70 million.
