SHEPHERDS URGED TO STOP BURNING PASTURES

Mokhotlong Sept. 28 — Shepherds have been urged to stop burning of grass and letting livestock to graze over wetlands.

The Senior Integrated Management Officer Mr. Koali Hlasoa from Polihali Branch under the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority appealed to shepherds to stop destroying the environment when speaking at the event to celebrate World Tourism Day held at Sani Top village in Mokhotlong on Friday.

Mr. Hlasoa said they should also refrain from erecting cattle posts within wetlands as that will affect water sources needed to generate water to fill  dams such as  Polihali which is currently in construction process…
