STAKEHOLDERS IN TALK OVER COMPENSATION DISTRESS 

Qacha’s Nek, Jan.10 — In a bid to end the long overdue fight over compensation between the Chinese construction company, Qingjian Group (CNQC) and villagers around Tsoelike constituency, the newly appointed District Administrator (DA) Mr. Habofanoe Pheku has today engaged with all role-players.

The Agency learnt during the meeting that the initiative follows numerous complaints and protests by disgruntled residents, who have been pestering the DA’s office with requests of intervention for years.

Complaining that the authorities were not listening to their grievances, the angry villagers often resolved to blocking Mpiti to Sehlabathebe road with stones and the police had to disperse the mob countless times. . .
