DEFENCE OBJECT TO EVIDENCE

Maseru, Jan. 10 — The defence in a case in which some army members are accused of killing three men at Mafeteng in 2012 has objected to Major General Ramanka Mokaloba narrating to the court what one of the accused reported to him.

The objection was made by Advocate Karabo Mohau (KC), a legal representative for one of the accused, Litekanyo Nyakane, as the witness was testifying.

The witness who was leading special forces within the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) in 2012 under the command of the Army Commander, had told the court that the accused in the matter were members of the special forces until 2017 when they were arrested. He stated that in April 2012 they were deployed at a military base in Mafeteng. He indicated that on April 07 the same year, he got a call from Nyakane giving him a report.
