TOURISM ENTERPRISES BILL UNDER REVIEW

Berea, Oct 08 — The Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture (MTSAC) was engaged in a one-day workshop staged in Berea with the business people in accommodation establishments and other tourism sectors with the aim to review the Tourism Enterprises Bill 2024, where they were also urged to unite in order to tap into vast opportunities in the tourism sector.

MTSAC Principal Licensing Officer Bohlokoa Mahlalefang Rametse highlighted that the tourism Sector has been identified as one of the priority sectors in the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) to boost and generate economic growth of the country.

Mrs. Rametse highlighted that in 2012 their ministry held consultative meetings regarding the laws and regulations which facilitate the business licensing or used to regulate entry into the markets such as Accommodation, Catering and Tourism Enterprises Act of 1997 and she stressed that since 2012 they have not made any amendments on such law. . .
