TS’OLO SINGS GOVERNMENT’S PRAISES

Mohale’s Hoek, Aug.06 — Setanteng community councillor Mr.Ts’olo Ts’olo has applauded the government for reaching out to the most vulnerable groups in communities, by distributing rice and sorghum to the households affected by food insecurity, through the District Disaster Management Authority, (DMA)

Mr. Ts’olo stated in an interview with the Agency that the initiative came at the right time when communities are struck by shortage of food.

On the other hand, the District Disaster Manager Mr. Lebohang Moletsane said the purpose of the distribution is to address the issue of food insecurity within various households, however expressed his concern about villagers who are not vulnerable but want to be given food.

Mr. Moletsane who indicated that households are being allocated 25 and 15kg’s of Rice and Sorghum respectively, asserted that beneficiaries have been identified with assistance from the local authorities, and the distribution has successfully been carried out in Khoelenya, Phatlalla, Ha-Soko, Ha-Mohlakana, Ha-Makhabane and Setanteng electoral divisions respectively, stating the expectation is that distribution be completed by October.

Meanwhile, Mr. Moletsane further stated that DMA has managed to reconstruct twenty-one houses in Maphuts’eng, Mekaling Mohale’s Hoek, Mpharane and Taung constituencies, to individuals who lost their shelter either due to fire or heavy storms.

Chieftainess ‘Mabotsutsu Moletsane applauded DMA for building a house for one Naha Moletsane a male in his late 50’s of age whose house was burned to ashes, leaving the latter nothing. . . .
