UN SECRETARY GENERAL IN LESOTHO

Maseru, Dec. 12 — The United Nations (UN) Secretary General, Mr. Antonio Guterres and his entourage arrived in Lesotho on Thursday for a two-day  official visit.

Upon arrival in the Mountain Kingdom, the former Portugal Prime Minister paid a courtesy call on the Head of State, King Letsie III at the Royal Palace, Maseru where he was welcomed with a cultural gift otherwise tapestry.

At the Palace, the UN Secretary General was accompanied by Foreign Affairs and International Relations Minister, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane,  Lesotho Ambassador to UN , Mr. Matete Nena as well as UN Resident Coordinator, Ms. Amanda Khozi Mukwashi amongst others.

It is anticipated that after meeting with the King,  Mr. Guterres will later visit the State House, where he will meet Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Samuel  Matekane, make a speech at the joint Parliamentarians seating.
