UNAVAILABILITY OF FUNDS DELAYS JUSTICE

Mohale’s Hoek, Dec.18 — The current state of unavailability of funds in government seems to be delaying the wheel of justice, for the now 18-year-old girl who has allegedly been sexually assaulted by her biological father in 2021 at the age of 15.

The witness who is expected to take the stand in court, being an investigating officer who is a former member of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service, is reported to be based in Qacha’s Nek, and has informed prosecution that he does not have bus fare to come to Mohale’s Hoek.

In an interview with the Agency Boitumelo Khechane for prosecution stated that the court is exploring other options for the officer to testify, even if it means appearing before Qacha’s Nek court visually, noting they have until 31, December, to prepare for the justice to prevail. . .
