VANDALISM STRIKES IRRIGATION PROJECT IN MOSAQANE

Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 12—In a troubling turn of events, the 16-hectare irrigation scheme being developed for farmers between Thalabacha and Maluma in Mosaqane has fallen victim to vandalism.

Mr. Leqheku Letsoisa, a Project Field Officer with the Smallholder Agriculture Development Project (SADP II), reported that the scheme’s sprinklers have been destroyed, with suspicions that children may be responsible.

“The damage is severe; without the irrigation system functioning, water cannot flow, necessitating the installation of new sprinklers,” Letsoisa lamented.

The incident has been reported to the police, and an investigation is currently underway.
