YOUNG AGRIENETERPRENEURS EMPOWERED THROUGH BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Quthing, Oct. 14 — In a bid to combat unemployment and promote sustainable livelihoods, young farmers from Quthing and Qacha’s Nek are undergoing intensive training on agricultural business management and mentorship held at a local lodge in Upper Moyeni until Wednesday this week.

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition through the Smallholder Agriculture Development Project II (SADP II), the training aims to equip participants already engaged in agribusiness with the tools to grow their businesses and contribute to national efforts to reduce unemployment.

Speaking at the event, SADP II Matching Grants Specialist Mr. Relebohile Khatibe emphasized that the participants are youth actively involved in agribusiness in their respective districts, and they are among 1, 000 young farmers set to receive support from the ministry, in line with the Prime Minister’s call for government ministries and the private sector to implement strategies addressing the country’s youth unemployment crisis.

Mr. Khatibe noted that the training covers essential business management skills such as marketing, costing, pricing, and customer relationship management. He added that mentorship will inspire participants to invest more effort into growing their businesses and understanding that success requires dedication.
