Maseru, Mar. 08 — In celebration of the nation’s remarkable 200 years of existence, different sectors are invited to partake in a special initiative to showcase cultural heritage and unity.
As part of the festivities, the Public Servants, Parastatals, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) and Private Companies employees urged to wear traditionally branded attire every Friday, starting from this week.
The Government Secretary (GS) Mrs. Teboho ‘Mokela today has indicated that this initiative aims to honor Basotho’s rich history, diverse traditions, and collective identity as a nation. By wearing attire that reflects cultural heritage, citizens can actively participate in commemorating two centuries of resilience, progress, and shared values.
In addition to encouraging cultural pride and solidarity, this weekly tradition serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and cherishing Basotho’s unique customs and traditions. It provides an opportunity for individuals to express their appreciation for the nation’s heritage while fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within communities.
