Maseru, Mar. 17 — In a bid to bolster its capabilities in peacekeeping endeavors, the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) has embarked on a comprehensive three-week Peace Support Operation Course. This training initiative, spearheaded by the French Army Training Team, aims to enhance the skills and expertise of LDF personnel in the peacekeeping operations.
Lieutenant Colonel (Lieut. col.) Sakeng Lekola, in an exclusive interview, noted the significance of this training program in equipping LDF members with the latest methodologies and strategies essential for effective peacekeeping.
He pointed out the dynamic nature of peacekeeping missions and highlighted the imperative for continuous training to adapt to evolving challenges in the field.
As one of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states frequently deployed in various peacekeeping missions, Lieut. Col. Lekola stressed the critical importance of ensuring LDF personnel receive comprehensive and continuous training.
