VENDORS CALL FOR FLEA MARKET EVALUATION

Maseru, May. 11 — Street Vendors operating at Basotho Hat Maseru say, the launch of Flea Market  by the Prime Minister (PM)  a few months ago is a good initiative but ought to be evaluated so as to achieve intended results.

According to these Vendors, this move benefits mostly those selling food and other products not them as they sell Basotho hats, thus their target market is mainly foreigners and tourists.

In an interview with a Vendor at Basotho Hat, Mrs. ‘Mabereng Matseletsele of Sehlabeng  who sells Basotho hats at ‘Mokorotlong’ said traffic comes to a halt on the day of the event, hence customers coming from the bus stop and Maseru Bridge are unable to reach to their products, urging for a suitable place like Moshoeshoe l Statue to be considered so as to allow free movement.. . .
