Maseru, Sep. 04—Executive Head of Financial Services at Vodacom Lesotho (VCL), Ms.
Mpho Mosotho says her company has injected close to a million Maloti as sponsorship for
‘Maletsunyane braai festival.
Although Mosotho refused to disclose the exact amount, she said it is very close to a million
and it is intended to ensure that the festival is a success as it has been in previous years.
She said only traders from Lesotho will be allowed to operate within the festival premises as
a way to generate income for them even if it is only for a few days.
Furthermore, Mosotho announced a plan to have M-Pesa services as the only way to purchase
any goods from traders at the time, and advised that no cash should be carried around.
Mr. Bokang Kheekhe, one of the festival organisers underscored the importance of tourism in
the country, hammering on the creation of jobs and financial improvement for families.
This he said when talking of the potential that is carried by the braai festival to enhance
economic statuses of the surrounding communities and traders from different areas who will
be competing in the market with their different products.
