ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CRUCIAL FOR FUTURE FOR ALL – LNFOD

Maseru, Apr. 20 — The Lesotho Federation of Organizations of the Disabled (LNFOD) says assistive technology is crucial for a just, inclusive and productive future for all.

In its recently issued article, it states that assistive technology can make a difference in a user’s ability to fully participate in social, economic, political, family and cultural life. It adds that it supports persons with disabilities to secure meaningful employment. It further adds that it safeguards their right to adequate healthcare.

It also adds that it ensures that children with disabilities have access to quality and inclusive education.

LNFOD emphasizes that lack of access to assistive technology can result in exclusion from education, work, family and community life. It adds that it can also result in poor health outcomes and increased risk of poverty.
