CLIMATE CHANGE EXPERTS SENSITISE DDMT

Qacha’s Nek, Sept. 08 — In a bid to promote climate change adaptation, the World Food Programme (WFP) through the project of Improving Adaptive Capacity of the Vulnerable and Food Insecure Populations in Lesotho (IACoV) in partnership with the National Climate Change Committee (NCCC) and Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) ha99 today sensitised District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) about the National Climate Change Communication Strategy (NCCCS).

NCCCS is a tool that was developed in 2021 with the aim of guiding the country’s efforts to address the effects of climate change and ensure that people understand them and are able to adapt and adopt behavior that reduces their vulnerability to the effects.

IACoV Communication Manager, Ms. Rorisang Kurubally said the strategy was developed after the realisation that people were being confused by stakeholders working in silos.
