COLEPE, GOVERNMENT AT LOGGERHEADS

Maseru, Mar.18 — Coalition of Lesotho Public Employees (COLEPE) and the government battle seems to be far from over as the duo is still at loggerheads regarding the former’s salary increment demand.

Earlier, COLEPE had proposed to its members (public servants) to engage in demonstrations from March 11 to 15 against the announced two percent increment for 2024 / 2025 financial year.

Speaking in one of the local radio stations on Monday morning, the Government Spokesperson Mr. Thabo Sekonyela said  they have failed to reach consensus as COLEPE does not meet the criteria of a federation therefore in its capacity cannot engage in negotiations with the government…
