Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 9 — In a significant public consultation held by the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS), residents gathered at Ha Matlali to discuss pressing community concerns, including rising incidents of rape, murder, and corruption among police officers.
During the session, participants expressed their worries about various issues in Qacha’sNek, including bars operating beyond their permitted hours, delays in responding to crime reports, stock theft, and housebreakings.
The discussions also revealed a consensus on the root causes of crime, including poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, and a general lack of resources.
The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, provided a platform for the community to voice their frustrations and suggest solutions.
