DCPT AWARDS WOMEN CHANGE MAKERS IN CHILD PROTECTION

Berea, April 11 — In celebration of the International Women’s Day, District Child Protection Team (DCPT) Berea has on Friday presented certificates of appreciation to at least 3 women making a significant role in child protection issues at their respective places.

The International Women’s Day was observed on March 08 under a theme, ‘For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality Empowerment’, and as a result DCPT Berea identified 3 awardees namely Mrs. Matiisetso Makoko from Senqunyane, Mrs. Mathabiso Mphako from Kolojane and Mrs. Maisaka Monyolo of Mapoteng.

Representing DCPT Berea and also the Department of Social Development, Senior Child Welfare Officer, Mrs. Hape Ntili said despite doing the community engagement activities in child protection issues, they are working along with their respective DCPT members and most of them are doing an exceptional job voluntarily.

Ms. Ntili highlighted that efforts to award them is meant to appreciate their contribution on child protection issues, citing that they have been active in the forefront to ensure that children’s rights and needs are met such as securing their right to education, and helping them to have the identity documents among other issues.
