Botha-Bothe, July 26 — District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Botha-Bothe believes that the initiative where farmers are selling their produce to the government is motivation for farmers.
In an interview with the Agency, DMA officer, Mr. Phano Ntene believes that many farmers are going to invest more into farming after realizing that the government is buying their produce. He said many farmers say they have been reluctant to increase their produce due to absence of markets.
He added that during the Lesotho Vulnerability Assessment Report many farmers showed concern over lack of markets where they can sell their produce. He said the initiative has come at the right time as farmers will be able to sell their produce before getting destroyed.
