DMA WARNS NATION OF FLOWING RIVERS

Maseru, Oct. 16 — The Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has continued to warn the nation to stay vigilant due to the prevailing weather conditions.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Monday, the Assistant Information officer of the authority Ms. Mahlape Koali said that as the rain continues falling, rivers fill up making it difficult to cross therefore people  should stay away from rivers.

She mentioned that it is also important for parents and guardians to ensure that their children are also kept away from ponds.

Ms. Koali also mentioned that by far, the Maseru district office has not yet received any reports of households which were affected by recent rainfalls.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast by the Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) as dated October 16 has revealed that thunderstorms are expected to be experienced throughout the day in a number of places across the country.
