DPE TAKES ACTION TO EMPOWER YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS

Qacha’s Nek, Dec. 12 — Development for Peace Education (DPE) is on a mission to strengthen youth involvement in Lesotho’s decision-making processes, beginning with a visit to the district’s youth centre in Sehlekehlekeng.

This visit marks the start of a broader initiative aimed at identifying and supporting local youth associations to ensure they can effectively contribute to governance and policy implementation.

In an interview with the Agency, DPE Education Researcher Mr. Lemohang Molibeli explained that this initiative is part of a two-year incubation period for the Youth Power Hub (YPH), a project supported by the European Union, UNICEF and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

While the initiative spans all 10 districts of Lesotho, DPE is focusing its efforts in Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek, Quthing and Qacha’s Nek.
