DPS WANTS INTRODUCTION OF TRAFFIC COURT

Maseru, Jan. 19 — The Ministry of Public Works and Transport Deputy Principal Secretary (DPS), Dr. Lesimole Moletsane says there is a need to introduce a traffic court locally to ensure speedy service delivery in relation to traffic cases.

The DPS views come after the presentation of traffic stakeholder’s teams placed in different parts of the country in order to stabilise traffic on roads during the previous road safety campaign.

The DPS, who has once worked in the same court when it was introduced years ago, highlighted the importance of this specialised judicial process for handling traffic ticket cases among others.

Therefore, she explained that the re-introduction of a similar courthouse would go a long way in bettering service delivery in as far as traffic cases are concerned, thus avoiding congestion in the courts of law. . .
