Maseru, Feb. 24 — Mafa Khutlane of Sehlabanyaneng Ts’enola in the district of Maseru appeared before Magistrate Nkhethoa Molapo charged with the murder of Letsatsi Khutlane.
The said accused is charged with contravening the provisions of section 40(1) read with (2) of penal code Act no. 6 of 2010.
Khutlane on February 20 2026 at Ts’enola Sehlabanyaneng in the district of Maseru unlawfully and intentionally assaulted his son Letsatsi Khutlane by beating him with an axe inflicting upon him serious physical injuries which resulted in his death.
Magistrate Molapo told the accused to apply for bail in the High Court as Magistrate Court is not responsible to grant bail on such a crime.
The accused is remanded to March 10, 2026.
