Maseru, Aug.02 — A Curator for Morija Museum and Archives Mrs. Mamokuena Makhema says the Morija Arts and Cultural Festival (MACUFE) will return to its glory.
This she said in an interview on Saturday adding that no matter the challenges, the event will happen.
Mrs. Makhema pointed out that the challenges on funding for this year’s event will not make the organisers lose hope adding that in fact it has not since the return of the festival.
She described the festival as the only event purely focusing on arts and culture.

“It is crucial for activation of heritage because through the festival, pride is activated in Basotho,” she said.
She urged for support from all Basotho young and old.
Mrs. Makhema said although the event has scaled down, it is expected that some of the major activities such as the Schools Cultural Competitions will continue to be featured.
She pointed out that there will also be a return of the DJs Mega Mix which has a potential to attract a large crowd.

“As a build-up to this year’s event, we are working to secure more sponsors which we hope will work out. We also plan to activate an already established Rock Arts Exhibition in September,” she alluded.
She further added that there will be a fundraiser event in a form of Pitiki which is scheduled to be held at Matsieng on August 30 2025.
