Maseru, Feb. 16 — The Minister of Finance Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane will deliver the 2024/25 fiscal year budget estimates in Parliament on Wednesday next week.
This was revealed in the letter read by the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane during the sitting of the House on Friday.
The letter, which was from the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, required a joint sitting for the 2024/25 budget statement on the above mentioned date.
It indicates that the statement will create a platform for presentation, discussions and review of the budget document.
It adds that the statement will enhance transmission and encourage open dialogue leading to decisions in the best interest of the nation.
It therefore urges officers and assistants to make arrangements for delivery of budget speech on the mentioned date.
Meanwhile Members of Parliament were encouraged to approach Health Practitioners who have been in the Parliament premises since Thursday (yesterday) for vital science examinations which includes screening of blood pressure, sugar diabetes and other diseases.
The House adjourned until Monday next week.
