Maseru, Feb. 16 — As a way to connect, grow and create positive spirit among youth in the vicinity of Ha Thetsane and the nearby villages, Thetsane Police plans to introduce different sporting codes for youth.
This initiative is meant to bring together youth from different villages, especially during schools’ holidays so that they connect, network and learn about different types of crimes and prevention strategies, Inspector ‘Mathabo Khanyapa has said.
According to Inspector Khanyapa, due to a number of challenges facing youth today that include unemployment, conflicts in their families as well as peer pressure amongst, many have engaged in use and misuse of drugs thus ending up in acts of crimes.
She appealed to parents and guardians in advance to support this plan intended to be done in different shapes along a variety of different sporting codes. “With a positive attitude, together we can make a change among the lives of our youth, we can build healthy and prosperous future leaders,” she stressed.
