Qacha’s Nek – A middle aged man from Ha Khoathi, ‘Melikane Tsoelike Qacha’s Nek will host a horse racing competition for people around Qacha’s Nek district inclusive of Semonkong and Qabane.
In an interview with the Agency, Mr. Sthandisa Thafeli explained that this race is more than a competition as it puts bread on the table.
He describes the race on its third time, explaining the past two were a success for both him and other participants, the likes of fans who go there to watch and sell their goods and earn something in return.
“I don’t take this as my competition, because it helps a lot of us,” stated Mr. Thafeli.
He also stated that the initiative beside the race is to continue with the horse games that were done by their forefathers previously. So this is to continue the legacy.
“This race is also to educate the upcoming generation about horse racing,” said Mr. Thafeli. . . .
