Berea, June 14 — In a bid to raise awareness about children’s right, particularly the right to access education in rural areas, Kolojane Community Council Child Protection Team (CCCPT) will mark the Day of African Child (DAC) on June 27 at Thaba-lesoba.
This was confirmed by Kolojane CCCPT Secretary Ms. Rorisang Mohapi during an interview with the Agency on Friday.
Ms. Mohapi said they are going to celebrate the event under a theme, ‘Education for all children in Africa: The time is now’ and as a result they have planned to raise awareness about the children’s rights and the importance of education in our modern society.
Kolojane CCCPT Secretary said life in rural areas has left many people marginalized in terms of accessing services, and the situation is even worse when it comes to children as many still had to risk their lives and walk long distances before reaching the schools.
