Maseru, Feb. 28 — The Lephaila family is spending sleepless nights looking for their son who disappeared last Sunday without returning back home.
His younger brother Mr. Thabang Lephaila told the Agency on Wednesday that it has now been three days since his elder brother left home to go and watch a soccer match but never returned back home.
Mr. Lephaila said his brother’s wife told him that there was no arguments or disagreement of any sort when he left home on a Sunday morning.
He said his wife said she began to be worried when he failed to return home and started looking for him in vain.
Mr. Lephaila said as the family they have searched all over even at the Lesotho Funeral Service mortuary where unknown corpses are kept without any success.
“We earnestly appeal to anyone with relevant information to assist us or report him to the nearby police station,” he commented.
Mr. Lephaila said the family has no clue of what could be the reason behind his disappearance since this is the first time he fails to return back home without saying anything.
He said he has reported the matter to the Pitso Ground Police station and was surprised to learn that the Police Public Relations Officer at the Police Head Quarters in Maseru Senior Superintendent Kabelo Halahala claimed to only have seen the reports of his brother’s disappearance on social media.
Police PRO Senior Superintendent Halahala had told the Agency that there was no official report of Mr. Lephaila’s whereabouts reported to the police, that he only saw it on social media platforms.
Despite being associated with sport, Mr. Lephaila is also a teacher at Sefika High School where he was last seen leaving the school’s premises on Sunday evening.
