Maseru, May.07 — The Kingdom of Lesotho is celebrating a historic milestone following the selection of Mrs. Malineo Seboholi as the first Mosotho to be awarded the prestigious Mo Ibrahim Foundation Fellowship.
The fellowship, regarded as one of Africa’s most competitive and distinguished leadership programmes, identifies and supports exceptional young African professionals committed to advancing governance, leadership and development across the continent.
Mrs. Seboholi’s achievement has been hailed as a moment of national pride, reflecting the growing contribution of Basotho professionals within continental and global institutions.
Speaking on the achievement, Lesotho’s Permanent Representative to the African Union, Ambassador Ntsiuoa Sekete, said the recognition demonstrates the untapped potential of Basotho youth.
“Malineo’s selection as the first Mosotho Mo Ibrahim Fellow is a moment of immense pride for our nation. It reflects not only her exceptional merit, but also the untapped potential of Basotho youth to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s governance and development agenda,” she said..
