LESOTHO HOSTS FASHION SHOW TO BOOST TEXTILE, APPAREL SECTOR 

Maseru, Nov.26–The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development through the Regional Value Chain Lesotho (RVCL+) project held a high-level fashion show titled ‘Pioneering Excellence in Lesotho Expression’ in Maseru on Tuesday.

In her remarks on behalf of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister Justice Nthomeng Majara said Lesotho is blessed with cultural potential which can be used to create jobs and improve livelihoods.

She indicated that the textile and apparel sector is one of Lesotho’s powerful sectors which holds great potential therefore it is through such initiatives that upcoming artists and producers can be found.

Meanwhile, the European Union Ambassador Mettee Matilda Sunnergren said the show is a platform where culture and talent meets creativity.

She also applauded all the partners who took part in ensuring for the successful event reaffirming EU’s support to Lesotho’s economic space.

Additionally, the Country Director for GIZ Lesotho, South Africa and Eswatini Mr. Thomas Schaef applauded all the producers and artists and called for upgraded capacity which will help them acquire expanded markets and create more employment opportunities.
