Maseru, Sept. 17– The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA), Mr. Tente Tente, has suggested that the LHDA be allocated a certain percentage of water royalties to enhance their ability to supply water and electricity nationwide.
Mr. Tente made this proposal during a recent educational tour attended by members of the Senate to key LHDA facilities, including the Katse Dam, Polihali, and Muela Dam. The tour was designed to familiarise Senators with the services and operations of these dams.
He stated that the LHDA has the necessary expertise to meet the water and electricity needs of the entire country. However, the organisation faces budgetary constraints that hinder its ability to fully utilise its human resources. . .
