MIGHTY WATERS BRINGS CLEAN WATER EDUCATION TO MAJAHENG

Berea, October 23 — Representatives from Mighty Waters, a project within AdventHealth, visited Majaheng on Thursday to teach villagers how to use filter buckets for safe, purified drinking water.

Mighty Waters was founded by two men who, after traveling across the world, witnessed the devastating impact of waterborne diseases, particularly among children.

Realizing the urgent need for clean water solutions in underserved areas, they created a simple, practical system for households where clean water is not readily available.

Amanda Mahoney, from the Global Missions Department of AdventHealth, explained the system as user-friendly and effective.

“It involves two buckets and a filter, with easy daily maintenance. If families are able to follow instructions, the results will be fruitful,” she said.

Majaheng is the first village the team has visited for a second time, as recommended by Maluti Adventist Hospital. During this visit, they successfully distributed 100 filter buckets to community members.

In addition to the training, the team also conducted hygiene education sessions at Majaheng Primary School and donated filter buckets there as well. The aim is to ensure that children have access to clean water, helping to reduce waterborne illnesses that often lead to school absenteeism.
