MOHALE’S HOEK, June 26 — Ministry of Environment and Forestry conducted a training workshop for catchment supervisors and foremen from Tuesday to Thursday.
Mr Motlatsi Pheko, Senior District Conservation Officer said the main objective of a three-day training workshop was to train and equip catchment supervisors and foremen with basic administration and technical skills to manage the general labour in an effort to rehabilitate the land that has been damaged due to soil erosion.
Mr. Pheko stipulated that the land will be rehabilitated in two areas being Mohale’s Hoek Race Course and Ha Ntabanyane at Khoelenya Council in Mekaling.

He further elaborated main duties and activities will include gully shaping and structuring, retaining wall construction, re-vegetation, reseeding and tree planting.
Moreover, the Assistant Conservation Officer Mr. Motebang Rakotsoane highlighted that the project itself is meant to rehabilitate the land and alleviate poverty. . . .
