MINISTRY OF HEALTH INTRODUCES CERVICAL SELF-TEST

Maseru, Dec. 02 — In a significant step towards combating cervical cancer, the Ministry of Health has launched a self-test initiative aimed at increasing accessibility and early detection among women.

The cervical cancer self-test empowers women to screen themselves in the comfort and privacy of their homes using a self-collection kit.

The self-test involves the use of a specially designed kit that allows women to collect a sample from their cervix, which is then sent to a laboratory for analysis.

The process is simple, non-invasive and provides a highly effective means of detecting the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV), a leading cause of cervical cancer.
