NO BAIL FOR MURDER SUSPECT – WOMEN DEMAND

Botha-Bothe, Sept. 03 — Residents of Makhunoane gathered outside the Botha-Bothe Magistrate Court on Wednesday, demanding that bail not be granted to a man accused of murdering a woman and her 12-year-old daughter.

Holding placards, both men and women lined the court entrance as the suspect appeared before Magistrate Manyefolo Ramakhula.

Speaking after the proceedings, community member and relative of the deceased, Mr. Thabo Kakase, said they came to make their voices heard.

“We fear that if he is released, he may kill more people. We want the court to understand that we do not want him granted bail. We also want to know where the victims’ blood went because none was found in the house where the killings allegedly happened. This case has truly shaken us as a community,” he said.
