OVER M2 MILLION ALLOCATED FOR QUTHING DEVELOPMENT FUND

Quthing, Sept. 19 — The Quthing District Council has been allocated more than M2 million in development funds for the 2025-2026 financial year.

The funds are specifically allocated for the extension and maintenance of clean water supply projects at some villages from six community councils including urban council in the district.

According to Mr. Khotso Nokoana, the District Assistant Economic Planner from the District Administrator’s Office, the projects have been identified through consultations with the respective community councils to ensure they address the most felt need of villagers.

He said targeted villages include; Phahameng, Litau, Bolahla, Mount Moorosi, Sekilane and Lelibohong, adding that at least one project will be implemented in each council.

He further said the construction will start as soon as the tendering process is complete and its supervision will be carried out by the District Department of Rural Water Supply to ensure that professional standards are met and long-term sustainability is prioritized.

Upon completion, the project will ease access to clean water supply to the villagers and promote good health.
