Maseru, Mar. 27 — Public Officers’ Defined Contribution Pension Fund (PODCPF) and Lesotho Institute of Public Administration and Management (LIPAM) on Wednesday in Maseru signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise collaboration between the two entities on Member Education, Training on Terminal Benefits and Financial Literacy.
The MoU was signed by Pension Fund Principal Officer Mrs. Nnete Hanyane – Ramone and LIPAM Director General Ms. Nthabiseng Tlhomola.
In his remarks, Minister of Public Service Mr. Stephen Mputi said that the signing came at an opportune time when they come to the end of Pensions Proclamation of 1964, as commencing this coming financial year 2024 / 2025 the terminal benefits of all retiring civil servants are going to be processed by the Pension Fund saying this is indeed a major milestone.
He said that the beneficiaries of public services, the citizens, are highly aggrieved and have completely lost confidence in their public agencies due to poor quality of services extended to them.
